For twenty years the job was to rank on page one. Now a growing share of customers type a full question into ChatGPT, Gemini or Copilot (other AIs are available) and act on whatever comes back. That answer usually names one to three businesses. If the assistant can't read your site, can't find your prices, or finds conflicting details, you are not in it. This is the moment to move, while most of your competitors are still optimising for a page of links. Next, the AI won't just recommend a business. It will book it. ## The UK AI market Consumers: Between them, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot account for at least three in every four UK visits to standalone AI assistants, according to most estimates. ChatGPT leads by a distance. Gemini's real reach is far larger than its share suggests, because Google's AI Overviews in search and Gemini on Android aren't counted. Business to business: For B2B traffic, Copilot and Claude currently dominate. Copilot is built into Microsoft 365, so it is already open on most UK office desks. Claude has a small share of consumer visits but holds around 30% or more of enterprise AI and coding spend. Your focus as a business: Start with who you sell to. If you sell to the public, make sure ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot can find and quote your prices, opening hours, location and reviews. Keep your Google Business Profile accurate, because Gemini and AI Overviews lean on it. If you sell to other businesses, your buyers are asking Copilot at their desks and Claude when they research in depth. Publish clear, citable detail on what you do, who it's for and what it costs, and keep it consistent on your site, LinkedIn and directories. Most businesses need both, and the work underneath is the same: one set of facts, published plainly, in the places every assistant reads. ## The approach ### Be found: Make your business readable to AI. - Plain facts in the page itself, not locked inside scripts, images or PDFs - Structured data that states who you are, what you sell, where and for how much - An llms.txt file: a summary of your business written for AI assistants - Crawler settings that let the AI search bots in - The same details everywhere AI looks: your site, Google Business Profile, directories and reviews ### Be answerable: Make your offering AI-native. - A site assistant that answers from your own facts and hands real enquiries to you - Prices, services and availability in a machine-readable feed - An MCP endpoint, so AI assistants can ask questions and request bookings for their users - Monthly checks on what each assistant says about you ## Services and prices (GBP) ### AI Visibility Audit Price: £395 Duration: 1 week Summary: Find out exactly what AI assistants say about you today, and why. Watch: We re-test every month, because the assistants change their answers. ## Frequently asked questions Q: What do you mean by AI-ing? A: Asking an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Claude or Perplexity instead of searching Google. The customer gets one written answer, often naming one to three businesses, instead of a page of links. Q: Does this replace SEO? A: No. It builds on the same foundations. Several AI assistants draw on search indexes, so good SEO still helps. AI visibility adds structured facts, AI crawler access, consistent details across the web, and ways for assistants to query you directly. Q: Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend my business? A: No, and nobody can honestly promise that. The assistants decide their own answers. What we can do is remove the reasons they leave you out, make your facts easy to use, and measure the results each month. Q: What is an MCP endpoint? A: MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to outside services. An MCP endpoint on your site lets an assistant look up your services and prices and send a callback request on its user's behalf, instead of guessing from your web pages. Q: What about AI agents? A: An AI agent is an assistant that acts for its user rather than just answering: it requests a quote, books an appointment or sends an enquiry. That's where AI-ing is heading. Our AI-Native Front Desk gives agents a direct, reliable way to check your services and prices and request a booking, instead of guessing from your web pages. This site already has one: ask your assistant to connect to it. Q: What is llms.txt? A: A plain-text file at the root of your website that summarises your business for AI assistants and points them to your most useful pages. It is a proposed convention, not an official standard, and it takes minutes to add. Q: Do I need a new website? A: Usually not. Most of the work fits into your existing site, whether it runs on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or something custom. If your site can't be fixed sensibly, we will tell you before you spend anything. Q: Who do you work with? A: Small and medium-sized businesses, trades, hospitality, venues, schools and charities. Most clients are in Hampshire and along the South Coast, but everything can be done remotely anywhere in the UK. Q: What happens to my customers' conversations with the site assistant? A: The assistant answers only from facts you have approved. Conversations are used to answer the customer and to pass enquiries to you, and are not sold or shared. We agree data retention with you before launch. Q: How do I get started? A: Run the free AI readiness check on this site, then book an AI Visibility Audit for £395. It tells you where you stand before you commit to anything bigger. Last updated: 2026-10-25
